You can contact us about privacy or an enquiry at info@surreytreesurgery.co.uk.
Information we collect
When you make an enquiry, we collect the information you provide: your name, phone number, postcode, selected service, project description and, if supplied, email address. We also record the page the enquiry came from, the time of your agreement and identifiers needed to prevent duplicate submissions.
Our hosting and security providers may also process technical information such as IP address, browser details, request time and server logs to deliver and protect the website.
How and why we use it
We use enquiry information to review your project, check service and location fit, contact you about it and, where appropriate, introduce you to a relevant independent specialist. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating and securing the requested enquiry service. Where we ask for your agreement before sharing an enquiry with a specialist, we also rely on that agreement.
We may use information where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not use enquiry data for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Who receives your information
We may share relevant enquiry details with an independent service provider so that they can assess the project and contact you. That provider is responsible for its own use of your information after an introduction.
We also use service providers that host the website, store enquiry records, deliver enquiry notifications and help us maintain security. These currently include Vercel for website hosting, Supabase for database services and Resend for enquiry email delivery. We disclose information to professional advisers, regulators or public authorities only where reasonably necessary or legally required.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data protection law requires safeguards, we expect the relevant provider or transfer to use an approved mechanism such as UK adequacy regulations or contractual safeguards. Contact us if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry, manage introductions, resolve disputes, maintain security and meet legal or accounting obligations. We decide the period by considering whether an enquiry remains active, the nature and sensitivity of the information, the risk of harm, and any applicable limitation or record-keeping period. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
Cookies and measurement
We do not currently use advertising cookies on this website. Essential browser storage or similar technology may be used where required to submit a form, prevent abuse or maintain security. Hosting providers may create technical logs as described above. We will update this notice and, where required, request consent before introducing non-essential cookies.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Your right to object: you can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests. Tell us why you object and we will assess your request under applicable data protection law.
Contact info@surreytreesurgery.co.uk to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its update date.
